LET’S START THE PROCESS
When you have chosen your dream dress and are ready to say YES, it’s time to get excited and officially begin your magical bridal journey with @ DE LA VIDA BRIDAL.
- On your dress’ page, click ‘Add to cart’. The page will ask you to indicate your general size (6-18) and the colour in some cases as per request. Don’t worry too much about sizing as we’ll confirm the details according to our size chart using your measurements in the next step to follow.
- Once we have received your order, we’ll send you an email requesting the professional measurements of your bust, waist (smallest measurement of your torso), hips (lower bottom – not bones), and hollow to hem (with the wedding shoes on). We send through measuring charts for ease and if need be a video call to help!
- Once we have received your details, we’ll match you to the generic sizing of our size chart. You are not required to do anything else at this stage, besides plan the rest the rest of your big day and enjoy all the champagne.
- Once you receive your dress, alterations / tweaks are very common. All alteration costs are excluded and therefore covered by the Bride. Our sister store @ SEW COUTURE SA is highly recommended for all local brides in and around South Africa; as they have been doing the magical tweaks on our dresses for the past 13 years.
PAYMENTS
The options of payment for all orders are PayPal, Payflex and Credit Card. Paypal is our preferred method but please choose the option most convenient to you.
If you have any questions before or after ordering, don’t hesitate to email us. We only offer certain changes to our designs. Please see available colour variations with each dress, otherwise pop us a mail for further info!
Unfortunately, changes cannot be accepted once the order has been processed.
TIMING AND DELIVERY
Please give us 24-48 hours to respond to your enquiry and order. Also, please note office staff do not work on the weekends, so all emails sent on the weekend will receive a reply in the new week. We are based in Johannesburg, South Africa ( GMT )
We prefer our brides to receive their dress at least two months before the wedding day. As alterations are recommended 4 weeks prior to the big day as to assure the perfect fit and avoidance of any weight fluctuation. Therefore, we advise ordering your dress within 8-10 months of your wedding. Please note that the holiday season if not included. If your wedding is sooner and you are a South African bride, please contact us at info@delavida.co.za for any urgent orders. We also have our in-stock range, for brides that have sooner weddings and needed as an express.
If you have ordered directly through our DLV Bridal Boutique, we will email your tracking number when your dress is ready to be picked up by the courier and shipped to you. Otherwise, noted on completion to come through for a glass of bubbles, mini celebration and to collect the dream dress in store at our boutique.
WHEN YOU RECEIVE YOUR DRESS
Please try on the dress as soon as possible without any make-up, lotions or fake-tan.
We make your dress according to the size that the measurements you gave us matched. We highly recommend all our brides have their measurements professionally taken. Because each body is exceptional, you might find that going to a local alterations shop is an easy way to make the dress fit exactly how you like it to fit, particularly for tight fitting dresses. This then assuring the best possible fit and shape to your individual silhouette.
In the rare occasion you think we have made a mistake with the measurements, please send us a few photos and we’ll happily ensure that it is rectified at our cost upon confirmation. Unfortunately, we can only cover costs if the misfit is brought to our attention within 24 hours of delivery and not thereafter.
RETURNS
Your dress is made specifically for you, so unfortunately we cannot offer a refund. Fortunately, so far, this has not been a problem. If, before you order, you would like to see more photos of your design, we are happy to send you more images and close ups ( better yet, if in Johannesburg, South Africa – book in for a fitting and try the dream dress on before ordering )
CHANGE OF MIND
Unfortunately we do not refund due to change of mind. If we haven’t started your dress you are more than welcome to change your order to another design, but we cannot refund. We cannot either refund you if you feel that dress does not suit you, as this dress was made specifically for you.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
We ship world-wide. Import duties, taxes and custom charges are not included in the price and are the responsibility of the buyer. The amount charged is at the discretion of the customs agency within the destination country and is determined, in part, by the value of the item/s.
